GENERAL COURSE DESCRIPTION

In this beginning/intermediate level course, you will learn the definitions and how to differentiate between boundary crossings, boundary violations and dual relationships in psychotherapy. The course will explain how home visits, gifts, self-disclosure, bartering and non-sexual touch are all boundary crossing, and when conducted with the welfare of the clients in mind, can be an integral part of an ethical and clinically sound treatment plan. The course will also provide clinical and ethical guidelines for handling boundary crossings and dual relationships in psychotherapy.
