Dr. Dan Montgomery

Dr. Dan Montgomery has held dual licensure as a Psychologist and Marriage & Family Therapist for almost thirty years. He has been a professor of psychotherapy and counseling, and psychopathology at the Pepperdine University Graduate School of Psychology and the University of New Mexico. Dr. Montgomery has trained and supervised pastoral counselors in graduate schools, churches, counseling centers, psychiatric hospitals, and the chaplaincy. His most recent books interfacing with pastoral counseling include: 1) Compass Psychotheology: Where Psychology and Theology Really Meet; 2) Christian Counseling That Really Works; and 3) The Self Compass: Charting Your Personality in Christ. The Compass Model presented in these books has received acclaim from professors at Yale Divinity School, Princeton Theological Seminary, Fuller Seminary, Gordon-Conwell Seminary, Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary (Northwestern University), McCormick Seminary, Perkins School of Theology (Southern Methodist University), Denver Seminary, Thomas Aquinas Institute of Theology, and Dallas Theological Seminary.
