- This course was developed by Michael Brickey, Ph.D., ABPP, from his book Defy Aging.
This course will teach psychotherapists to:
- Summarize how and why American life expectancy has jumped from 47 to 77 years between 1900 and 2000.
- Utilize in their work with their clients the 4 attitudes that foster living longer, healthier and happier.
- Tabulate the biological, social and psychological aspects of aging.
- Utilize in their work 36 beliefs that foster living longer, healthier and happier.
- Integrate a positive outlook about living well into one's hundreds.
- Utilize strategies for clarifying and enhancing our self-concepts as our clients' age.
9. INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE
2 CE Credits: Intermediate level. Co-developed by Sage DeBeixedon, Ph.D., and Ofer Zur, Ph.D.
