About the Author

Pamela Mulder, Ph.D.


Dr. Pamela Mulder is a professor of clinical psychology at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Most of her teaching and research duties are related to the new rurally focused, APA accredited Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.) program at Marshall. The courses she teaches regularly in that program include Rural Community Psychology I and II, Advanced Studies in Cross Cultural Psychology, and Integrated Psychological Assessment of Adults. Her research and clinical work are primarily focused on the behavioral health care needs of rural Americans.

Dr. Mulder is also the editor of the Journal of Rural Community Psychology, a widely read, peer reviewed journal published twice each year by Marshall University. She has served on the Rural Women’s Subcommittee of the APA’s Rural Task Force and also on the APA’s Committee on Rural Health.
